In 2009, we had a vision to provide year around services for youth beyond our church programs.  Our goal was to reach youth in the community and empower them to access resources that could provide better life opportunities for them.  Rosedale Park Baptist Church was supportive of the vision and have allowed Urban Link Village full access to their community life center which includes a gym.   Since 2009, we have partnered with the community to address the apparent issue of food shortage by starting food distribution for the community and later partnered to support and co-chair Brightmoor Connect, a Brightmoor community food pantry.  Urban Link Village started a mentoring program for middle school girls at Gompers Elementary; coed basketball development program for youth 4 - 13 years old; Cheerleader program; annual Brightmoor youth walk-a-thon;  adopt-a-family during the holiday season; technology training through Microsoft, and a 8-week summer day camp for youth.  Through our partnership with Logical Choice LLC, we provide after school academic enrichment and tutoring for athletes at several local high schools.    For the last 5 years we have been a site for the free summer food program, and a work site for summer youth employment for 20+ youth.   Through these services, we have developed several youth in leadership training and skills that make them employable and successful in academics and community services. 

Urban Link Village became a non-profit community partner with Renaissance Village in August, 2014 to provide services and resources to the youth and residents of the newly 184 remodeled apartment complex and the surrounding community.  Rapidly growing in services, we established Urban Village Network, as the parent organization which became a 501c3 non-profit organization in February 2015.  Currently, there are 2 summer day camp sites, group mentoring program, after school academic enrichment and tutoring on-site and in several high schools.  We continue to work with community partners to provide a variety of opportunities, resources and services to equipp the youth, empower their parents and enrich the families within the community.

Our motto, ". . . Preparing The Next Generation" encourages us to continue to invest in youth.  We provide services and resources that will enrich them academically, physically, socially and spiritually.
