Our program partner, Circle Y Ranch (CYR), is a Michigan-based 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 1964 as a residential summer youth camp. For more than 50 years, they have provided an outdoor residential summer camping experience for thousands of urban youth in Detroit and throughout the Midwest. Circle Y Ranch is nestled on 80 acres of land and located only 2-1/2 hours west of Detroit, MI in the city of Bangor. The leadership for the 2021 CYR Summer Day Camp comes from leaders CYR has developed over the years. Since COVID prevented a residential camping experience for the past two summers, Circle Y Ranch has the opportunity to collaborated with Urban Link Village, a non-profit youth-serving organization that has for more than 10 years provided myriad enrichment programs for Detroit youth and over 40 years of CYR leadership. For the first time Circle Y Ranch will operate a day camp in the City of Detroit, and it is sponsored by the City of Detroit Parks and Recreation. We will provide in the city of Detroit, a fun-filled summer of outdoor camping experience on the site of Rosedale Park Baptist Church located in the Brightmoor community. This collaboration will serve to introduce outdoor camping and create a foundation for further collaboration.

Circle Y Ranch Summer Day Camp starts Monday, July 26, 2021 for 4 weeks.

Circle Y Ranch is providing day camp programing for 4 weeks the 2021. Campers will enjoy an exciting outdoor camp program in a safe, healthy environment under the supervision of experienced youth leaders and support staff. Day camp will be held Monday through Friday and is sponsored by the City of Detroit Parks and Recreation and "FREE" for Detroit youth residents. In light of the past virtual year our youth have experience, we are pleased to provide total fun and recreation. Registration is limited and will be accepted on a "first come, first serve" basis with valid proof of Detroit residency.

We will adhere to our COVID plan which aligns with the City of Detroit Department of Health COVID guidelines. Our COVID safety plan includes, but not limited to mask* wearing, social distancing, small groups, cleaning & disinfecting equipment, pre-screening and temperate checks. *(masks when appropriate)

Campers will enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational activities, sports, games, arts & crafts, specialty classes, water games, fun! fun! fun! and so much more . . .
